Restorative Medical Massage inside Belmont Chiropractic

Therapeutic massage aims to improve physical health and well-being by addressing specific health conditions or musculoskeletal issues. It involves the manipulation of soft tissues, such as muscles, tendons, and fascia, using techniques designed to 
reduce pain, improve range of motion, alleviate muscle tension, increase circulation and accelerate healing through releasing trigger points, adhesions, and stretching. Various modalities including cupping, salt stones, warm bamboo may also be incorporated if appropriate. 
 
The goal with therapeutic massage is to address specific conditions that are impacting your daily life: Such as chronic pain, injuries, stress, and anxiety. 
The massage is tailored to the individual's needs and medical history. It can be used as a complementary therapy alongside other medical treatments or as a standalone intervention to improve overall health and well-being.

Therapeutic Massage

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) is a gentle massage technique in a specific sequence used to move lymph fluid through it's natural pathways, from a congested area (swollen area) to areas of the body where fluid can drain normally. 

It is beneficial following surgery, acute injury, lymphedema, sinus congestion, or chronic headaches.

This type of massage is performed by an ACOLS certified lymphedema therapist who has completed over 135 hours of training.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Massage therapy during pregnancy is safe and can help improve circulation, and reduce sore achy muscles and joints from postural changes during pregnancy. It is also beneficial for mother and baby to promote relaxation. 

We have multiple support bolsters, pillows and a fully adjustable massage table to accommodate your growing belly and whatever position is most comfortable for you at each phase of pregnancy. We can perform the massage with support bolsters for face down, sidelying, or the entire massage face up if you prefer. Your massage therapist will speak with you prior to the massage to understand what would make you feel most comfortable. 

Post-partum massage is greatly beneficial for the healing phase, sometimes referred to as 4th trimester, for mothers. Whether it's sore shoulders and neck from carrying baby or breastfeeding, to sore hips, pelvis, and abdomen from delivery, massage can help ease you through this phase of motherhood.
